Saints End Losing Streak with 17-7 Victory Over Panthers

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The New Orleans Saints have halted their four-game losing streak by defeating the Carolina Panthers 17-7 at Bank of America Stadium on Sunday.

Quarterback Tyler Shough made a significant impact in his second start of the season, achieving a franchise rookie record by passing for 282 yards and throwing two touchdown passes. This victory marked only the second time this season the Saints led at halftime.

Shough”s connection with Chris Olave was pivotal, as they teamed up for a spectacular 62-yard touchdown that secured a 10-7 lead for New Orleans.

The Saints” defense was equally impressive, limiting Panthers running back Rico Dowdle to just 53 yards on 18 carries, averaging 2.9 yards per attempt. Dowdle”s longest run of the day was 14 yards, and he managed to score the Panthers” sole touchdown with a 5-yard run in the first quarter.

Defensively, the Saints forced two turnovers during the game. Linebacker Pete Werner recovered a fumble, while cornerback Alontae Taylor intercepted quarterback Bryce Young in the fourth quarter.

Before this loss, the Panthers had won four of their last five games, leaving them with a 5-5 record in the division.

The Saints will enjoy a bye week next weekend before returning to action on November 23, when they host the Atlanta Falcons at 3:25 PM at Caesars Superdome.
