Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback and wide receiver Travis Hunter has undergone knee surgery to repair a torn LCL, which will keep him sidelined for the remainder of the season, according to sources who spoke to ESPN”s Adam Schefter.
The team confirmed the news on Tuesday, stating that Hunter did not suffer any additional damage beyond the LCL and is anticipated to return to full football activities in about six months. The second overall pick in the most recent draft last played in week seven against the Los Angeles Rams.
Hunter sustained the injury during practice on October 30. In his rookie campaign, he recorded 28 receptions for 298 yards and one touchdown. His impact on the defensive side was minimal, as he was not frequently targeted.
Currently, the Jaguars are positioned in the final wild-card spot in the AFC with a record of 5-4.
