Tennessee High School Football Championship Games Begin This Week

Starting Thursday, the state of Tennessee will celebrate its high school football champions as the 56th annual Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association football championships, commonly referred to as the BlueCross Bowl, commence. This exciting event will take place at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga and will run through Saturday, featuring nine championship games.

The action begins on Thursday with three championship contests highlighting the Division II categories. In the Division II-AA championship, Franklin Road Academy will face off against Battle Ground Academy. Later in the day, one of the nation”s elite quarterbacks, Jared Curtis, will play his final high school game, leading Nashville Christian (11-1) against University School of Jackson in the Division II-A final. The day concludes with the Division II-AAA title game, where Chattanooga Baylor, featuring standout running back David Gabriel Georges, will compete against Brentwood Academy.

On Friday, three additional championship games are scheduled. The lineup includes the Class 3A matchup between Gatlinburg-Pittman and Westview, the Class 1A clash of South Pittsburg versus McKenzie, and the Class 5A game featuring Sevier County against Page.

Saturday will wrap up the event with three more title contests, including the Class 4A showdown between Alcoa and Pearl-Cohn, the Class 2A battle of Marion County versus Huntingdon, and the highly anticipated Class 6A championship where Oakland will take on Ravenwood.

Fans can catch all the action live on the NFHS Network, which will broadcast all nine BlueCross Bowl games. Subscriptions are available on a monthly or annual basis, allowing viewers to follow their favorite teams and players throughout the championship series.
