The CIF regional high school football championship games took place on Friday night, showcasing thrilling matchups across California. This weekend”s schedule promises more exciting action with several key games set to unfold.
In the Open Division, De La Salle (12-0) will face Santa Margarita (10-3) at Saddleback College on Saturday, December 13, at 8 PM.
For the Division 1-AA, the North matchup features Archbishop Riordan (12-0) visiting Folsom (12-1) on Friday at 7:30 PM. In the South, Cathedral Catholic triumphed over Los Alamitos with a score of 42-21. The state championship will see either Archbishop Riordan or Folsom take on Cathedral Catholic, with the date to be announced.
In Division 1-A, the North will have Central East (12-1) going up against Pittsburg (11-2) on Saturday at 6 PM, while the South features Pacifica-Oxnard (14-0) visiting Granite Hills (10-3) at 7 PM.
Division 2-AA results saw St. Mary”s-Stockton defeat Serra 31-24 in the North, and Bakersfield Christian narrowly beat La Habra 24-21 in the South. The state championship game will feature St. Mary”s-Stockton (12-2) against Bakersfield Christian (13-0), with timing yet to be determined.
In Division 2-A, Woodcreek from Roseville (12-1) will take on Sonora (13-0) on Saturday at 6 PM in the North, while the South matchup between Rio Hondo Prep (14-0) and Santa Fe Christian (13-0) will take place at Carlsbad High School at 6 PM.
For Division 3-AA, St. Ignatius emerged victorious over Monte Vista 17-13 in the North, and Ventura won against Arroyo Grande 35-28 in the South. The state championship will see St. Ignatius (8-6) face Ventura (13-2), with the date forthcoming.
In Division 3-A, Roseville (11-2) will visit McClymonds (10-2) on Saturday at 6 PM in the North, while the South features Kennedy-Delano (11-3) at Carson (10-3) also at 6 PM.
Division 4-AA results showcased Sutter defeating Ferndale 21-7 in the North, and Barstow edging out Immanuel-Reedley 13-12 in the South. The state championship game will feature Sutter (13-1) against Barstow (11-3), with details pending.
In Division 4-A, El Cerrito (11-2) will play at Menlo-Atherton (7-6) on Saturday at 6 PM in the North, while Hillcrest (9-5) faces Beckman (11-3) at Tustin High School also at 6 PM in the South.
In Division 5-AA, Bishop O”Dowd won against Chico 23-20 in the North, and Christian-El Cajon defeated Valley Christian-Cerritos 27-13 in the South. The state championship will feature Bishop O”Dowd (10-4) facing Christian-El Cajon (8-7), details to be announced.
Division 5-A has Miramonte (8-5) visiting Calaveras (11-2) on Saturday at 6 PM in the North, while Bishop Union (11-3) will take on South Gate (11-3) in the South at the same time.
In Division 6-AA, Lincoln-San Jose triumphed over Gridley 28-20 in the North, and Valley Center defeated Valley View-Moreno Valley 30-19 in the South. The upcoming state championship will see Lincoln-San Jose (11-3) face Valley Center (8-6), with details forthcoming.
