The Connecticut high school football playoffs are in full swing as the penultimate rankings for the 2025 season have been released. This week”s rankings feature three new teams entering the mix, showcasing the fierce competition across the Constitution State.
New Canaan remains at the top with a perfect record of 12-0. The Rams will face off against third-seeded Cheshire in the CIAC Class L championship game after securing victories in both the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. They retain their previous ranking of first.
Avon Old Farms, also undefeated at 10-0, has clinched the NEPSAC Drew Gamere Bowl title to cap off their successful season, maintaining their second-place position from last week.
Killingly holds a strong record of 12-0 as well. The top-seeded Trailblazers will compete against second-seeded Hand HS in the CIAC Class SS title game after defeating Ellington and Ledyard to reach this stage, preserving their third-place rank.
Greenwich enters the CIAC Class LL championship after overcoming Staples and Fairfield Prep, now sitting at fifth after moving up from sixth.
Windsor, with an 11-1 record, also made strides, moving from seventh to sixth place after defeating Plainfield and Newington, securing their spot in the CIAC Class MM title game.
Hand HS remains in eighth place with an 11-1 record and will face Killingly in the championship game. The second-seeded Tigers look to make an impact after a strong season.
New to the rankings this week, Berlin enters at ninth with a flawless 12-0 record. The second-seeded Redcoats will take on fifth-seeded Brookfield in the CIAC Class M title game.
Sheehan also makes its debut in the rankings at tenth, with a record of 10-2. The Titans will compete against sixth-seeded Northwest Catholic in the CIAC Class S championship this weekend.
Meanwhile, Cheshire, with a record of 9-3, rounds out the playoff picture, facing top-seeded New Canaan in the CIAC Class L title match.
