Cowboys react to Micah Parsons” potential ACL tear as Jerry Jones declines to comment

ARLINGTON, Texas – Just prior to the Dallas Cowboys” “Sunday Night Football” matchup against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 15, former Cowboys All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons, now with the Green Bay Packers, suffered a non-contact knee injury while facing the Denver Broncos. Trevon Diggs, a Pro Bowl cornerback for Dallas and Parsons” close friend, immediately reached out to him after witnessing the incident. Parsons expressed his concern that he might have torn his ACL, according to Diggs.

“I was devastated. As soon as I saw it happen, I texted him to check on him,” Diggs shared, reflecting on his own experience with a torn ACL earlier in 2023. “That”s my Day 1, my brother. I understand what he”s going through right now. I just want everyone to keep him in their prayers. I will be there for him every step of the way.”

Dallas” Pro Bowl quarterback Dak Prescott also reached out to Parsons before the game. After receiving a positive response from Parsons about his plans for rehabilitation, Prescott commented, “I shot him a message before the game and told him to keep his head up. Tough game. Tough business. He replied with a great attitude, and he”ll tackle his rehab head-on.”

Earlier this season, Dallas traded Parsons to Green Bay in a major deal, acquiring two first-round picks after negotiations for Parsons” contract stalled. In his first year with the Packers, Parsons excelled at an All-Pro level, ranking third in the NFL in sacks and quarterback pressures. Following Green Bay”s recent loss in Denver, they currently hold the seventh seed in the NFC playoff race. Meanwhile, the Cowboys” defeat to Minnesota has significantly diminished their playoff aspirations.

Unlike his players, owner Jerry Jones chose to remain tight-lipped about Parsons” injury. “No, I”m sorry, but I don”t have details about his injury at all or the severity of it. I was not watching the outcome of the game,” Jones stated after the game. “I was informed about it around halftime, so I don”t have any knowledge and wouldn”t know how serious it is or my reaction to it because I don”t know how serious it is.”
