The Ohio State Buckeyes are set to compete in the College Football Playoff quarterfinals, continuing their pursuit of another national title. This season, the Buckeyes entered as the defending champions and were ranked No. 3 in the preseason AP Top 25 Poll. Despite achieving an undefeated regular season, the expectations surrounding the program remain high, particularly since they last won the Big Ten championship in 2020, a title they missed after losing to the now top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers.
Due to a recent rule change, the top four teams in the playoff bracket receive first-round byes. As the No. 2 seed, Ohio State is granted this advantage, allowing them to skip the first round regardless of their previous loss in the Big Ten championship.
The Buckeyes” next game will take place on Wednesday, December 31, where they will face the winner of the matchup between No. 7 Texas A&M and No. 10 Miami. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcast live on ESPN. Additionally, fans can stream the game on Fubo, which currently offers a free trial for new subscribers. This service allows viewers to access over 200 live TV channels, including ESPN, ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC.
