Clemson Tigers Set to Host Transfer Linebacker Next Week

The Clemson Tigers are preparing to host a transfer linebacker from the West Coast, addressing a crucial need for their defense. Tagoa”i, a former four-star recruit, announced via social media that he will visit Clemson on Monday, following his arrival on Sunday.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and weighing 205 pounds, Tagoa”i brings an impressive physical presence. He was ranked as the No. 14 linebacker in his high school class and was recognized as the No. 14 player in California while playing at San Clemente High School. Nationally, he was placed as the No. 168 overall player. Tagoa”i initially chose to join USC over notable programs such as Michigan, Washington, and Texas, showcasing his significant talent.

Although he primarily contributed on special teams during his freshman year, Tagoa”i did see playing time in multiple games, recording four total tackles, three of which were solo, and forcing a fumble against Missouri State on August 30. As of January 4, he is ranked as a three-star prospect in the transfer portal, positioned as the No. 23 linebacker.

His blend of speed and physicality makes him a valuable asset for any Power Four program. The Tigers, currently facing a shortage at the linebacker position due to recent transfers, are eager to fill the gap. With both current starters entering the transfer portal, the addition of Tagoa”i would not only provide immediate depth but also bolster the defense alongside existing players like Brown.

This visit is a significant opportunity for head coach Dabo Swinney and defensive coordinator Tom Allen as they look to enhance their roster with impactful talents from the transfer portal.
