Sherrone Moore”s Termination Letter Reveals Details of Firing and Incident

The termination letter of former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore has been made public, revealing insights into his unexpected dismissal. The letter, obtained by the Detroit News, outlines the university”s findings regarding Moore”s relationship with a staff member.

According to the letter, the university alleged that Moore, 39, provided false statements during investigative interviews. The athletic department had received reports indicating an inappropriate relationship with a staff member, which was confirmed through their investigation. Moore has since acknowledged that he was involved in a long-term relationship with the female employee. He was terminated on December 10.

The letter specified that Moore was prohibited from contacting any university personnel or student athletes and was banned from visiting any athletic facilities. Furthermore, it stated that he is ineligible for rehire at the university and instructed him to return his university-issued iPad, phone, and vehicle.

Moore”s termination was executed by Warde Manuel, the athletic director, during a private meeting in his office. Following his firing, Moore reportedly went to the female staff member”s home and forced his way into her apartment. Court records indicate that she was just a few feet from the door when he entered. She recounted that as he approached her, he grabbed two knives from a drawer and threatened her, saying, “You ruined my life.” Moore allegedly backed her into the living room while brandishing the knives.

Upon her successful attempt to contact her attorney, Moore reportedly turned the knives toward himself, threatening to take his own life and insisting that she would have to watch. On December 12, he was charged with third-degree felony home invasion, misdemeanor stalking in relation to a domestic relationship, and misdemeanor breaking and entering. He was released on a $25,000 bond and ordered to wear a GPS monitor, in addition to being instructed to cease all contact with the female staff member.

In a 911 call released by TMZ Sports, Kelli Moore, his wife, expressed her fears for her husband”s safety after his termination. She told the dispatcher, “I”m worried that my husband is going to hurt himself. He just called me and said he got fired from his job. He”s in crisis.” Kelli added that she urged him to come home and expressed concern about his whereabouts.
