SAN ANTONIO – This Saturday, the Alamodome will be the site of two significant high school football events: the Navy All-American Bowl and the San Antonio Sports All-Star Game. The day will kick off with the Navy All-American Bowl, starting at 12:30 PM, showcasing some of the nation”s top junior and senior players.
The San Antonio Sports All-Star Game, now in its 48th year, will commence at 5:30 PM. A total of 119 football players from 68 high schools in the area have earned their spot as San Antonio Sports All-Stars, representing the best talent the region has to offer.
This year”s Navy All-American Bowl marks its 26th anniversary and has an impressive track record, having produced 631 NFL draft picks, six Heisman Trophy winners, and over 200 Pro Bowl selections. Among the standout players is Tristen Keys, a wide receiver bound for the University of Tennessee, who holds the title of the nation”s top wide receiver.
In addition to the excitement on the field, the All-Star Game will feature players coached by 15 former participants who have also gone on to coach in this prestigious event. Notably, both teams will have quarterbacks whose fathers serve as their head coaches.
The games will be broadcasted, with the Navy All-American Bowl airing on NBC/WOAI and the All-Star Game on CW35. Fans are reminded that one ticket provides admission to both events.
