Jaydan Hardy, a former defensive back for the Oklahoma Sooners, is set to continue his collegiate career at the University of Colorado. Reports indicate that Hardy has committed to the Buffaloes, joining the program under head coach Deion Sanders, also known as Coach Prime.
In the 2025 season, Hardy played a significant role on the Sooners” defense, logging a total of 163 defensive snaps. His journey began when he enrolled at Oklahoma in 2024, where he participated in all 13 games as a true freshman. During that initial season, most of his contributions came on special teams, as he recorded just 58 defensive snaps and made two tackles.
Throughout the 2025 season, Hardy demonstrated his potential, finishing with 11 total tackles, including seven solo stops, an interception, and a forced fumble. He notably played 88 snaps at the free safety position. One of his standout performances occurred during a tense 23-21 victory against Alabama, where he forced a crucial fumble and made two solo tackles. In the latter part of the regular season, he consistently contributed on defense, appearing in at least 10 defensive snaps for each of the Sooners” final eight games.
Hardy is among five defensive backs from Oklahoma”s 2025 roster who have entered the transfer portal since the end of the season. The Sooners are looking to build on a successful 2025 campaign, where they achieved a 10-3 record and made their first appearance in the College Football Playoff since 2019. Oklahoma concluded their season with an impressive four-game winning streak, defeating notable opponents such as Tennessee, Alabama, Missouri, and LSU.
As Hardy transitions to Colorado, his experience and skills will undoubtedly be valuable assets to the Buffaloes” defensive unit as they aim for success under Sanders” leadership.
