Ohio State Secures Transfer Running Back to Strengthen Roster

Ohio State football has successfully secured a commitment from a transfer running back. This player has accumulated 607 rushing yards and seven touchdowns throughout his college career, with most of those statistics coming from the 2024 season.

The running back, Kenyatta Jackson, initially joined the University of Florida as a three-star junior college recruit in the 2023 recruiting class. He did not see action in his freshman year but experienced a breakout season in his second year, rushing for 509 yards and scoring seven touchdowns in 2024. Unfortunately, a season-ending injury limited his performance at the beginning of the 2025 campaign, where he managed just 98 yards in his first four games.

Jackson”s arrival brings valuable experience to a young running back group in Columbus. This unit is currently led by Bo Jackson and Isaiah West, both of whom are rising sophomores. The team has also seen departures this offseason, losing contributors CJ Donaldson and James Peoples. Donaldson has exhausted his eligibility, while Peoples has transferred to Penn State.

In addition to Bo Jackson and West, Turbo Rogers, Legend Bay, and Favour Akih are expected to compete for playing time in the upcoming season. Jackson”s presence is anticipated to bolster the effectiveness and depth of the running back rotation.

This transfer marks a significant step for Ohio State as they look to enhance their roster ahead of the 2026 season, particularly in the wake of recent player movements.
