The Calgary Stampeders have successfully re-signed wide receiver Tevin Jones and offensive lineman Tomas Jack-Kurdyla, ensuring key components of their roster remain intact as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Jones, who played a significant role during the 2025 Canadian Football League season, displayed his talent with 47 receptions for 618 yards and four touchdowns. His contributions were particularly evident in crucial moments, including a standout performance against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, where he scored two touchdowns, one of which was a remarkable 78-yard play.
In addition to his receiving stats, he also recorded one carry for eight yards and made five tackles on special teams. During the playoffs, Jones started in the CFL”s Western Semifinal, contributing two catches for 23 yards. Over his career, which includes time with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Edmonton Elks, Jones has accumulated 172 receptions for 2,496 yards and 15 touchdowns across 64 regular-season games.
The 33-year-old receiver, originally from Amory, Mississippi, has previous experience in the NFL, having played five games for the Pittsburgh Steelers. In college, he was a notable player for the Memphis Tigers, where he recorded 90 catches for 1,215 yards and nine touchdowns across four seasons.
The Stampeders also made a strategic move by retaining Tomas Jack-Kurdyla. The 29-year-old Canadian lineman joined the Stampeders in May and played in nine games during the last season, primarily serving as an extra offensive lineman in running situations. He stepped up significantly as a guard during Week 14 and Week 19, filling in for injured teammates.
Jack-Kurdyla has gained valuable experience in the CFL, with 54 games under his belt, including his time with the Elks, where he played 45 games and made 29 starts. Before his professional career, he was a standout at the University of Buffalo, making 40 career starts at right guard and contributing to the team”s record-setting rushing performances in 2018.
With the free agency period approaching on February 10, the re-signings of Jones and Jack-Kurdyla are pivotal for the Stampeders as they look to build on last season”s performance.
