Jeff Hafley Named Head Coach of Miami Dolphins After Agreement Reached

The Miami Dolphins have officially appointed Jeff Hafley as their new head coach, as confirmed by a source familiar with the situation on Monday. Hafley, who previously served as the head coach at Boston College and as the defensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers, replaces Mike McDaniel, who was dismissed after a four-year tenure that resulted in a record of 35-33.

This decision comes on the heels of the Dolphins also parting ways with long-time general manager Chris Grier during the season. Hafley had a productive interview with the Dolphins earlier on Monday, which led to the agreement to take over the coaching role.

The 46-year-old coach spent two years in Green Bay, where he worked closely with new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan. Hafley left his position at Boston College in 2024 to join the Packers, where he and Sullivan established a strong working relationship. Sullivan previously held the vice president of player personnel position with the Packers before transitioning to his current role with the Dolphins.

As Hafley embarks on this new journey in Miami, he aims to bring renewed energy and direction to the Dolphins, who are looking to improve their fortunes in the league moving forward.
