Steelers Complete Seven Virtual Interviews for Head Coaching Position

The Pittsburgh Steelers have officially completed seven virtual interviews as they search for a new head coach. This marks a significant step in their hiring process as they prepare for in-person meetings scheduled for next week.

According to Steelers Senior Director of Communications Burt Lauten, the seven candidates interviewed virtually include:

  • Ejiro Evero, defensive coordinator of the Carolina Panthers
  • Jeff Hafley, defensive coordinator of the Green Bay Packers
  • Klay Kubiak, offensive coordinator of the San Francisco 49ers
  • Jesse Minter, defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Chargers
  • Nate Scheelhaase, pass game coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams
  • Raheem Morris, defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams
  • Anthony Weaver, defensive coordinator of the Miami Dolphins

Unfortunately for the Steelers, they missed out on Hafley, who was appointed the Miami Dolphins” new head coach earlier this week, becoming the franchise”s 12th full-time leader.

Looking ahead, the Steelers are expected to conduct in-person interviews with Weaver and Brian Flores, the defensive coordinator of the Minnesota Vikings. Additionally, former Dallas Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy is reportedly set to meet with the Steelers next week to discuss the coaching vacancy.
