The Tennessee Titans have lost a key candidate for their offensive coordinator position as Mike McDaniel has agreed to join the Los Angeles Chargers. This development comes shortly after the Titans appointed Robert Saleh as their new head coach.
McDaniel, who had previously interviewed for the head coaching role in Nashville, will now be working with quarterback Justin Herbert in Los Angeles. While McDaniel is no longer in the running, the Titans are still exploring options for their coaching staff. Brian Daboll, who has a past working relationship with Saleh from their time together in New York, is also being considered for the offensive coordinator role. Daboll had previously interviewed for the head coaching position but may now pivot to a coordinator position.
As the Titans look to finalize their staff, the focus will shift to who Saleh will target for the offensive coordinator role and how he intends to implement his vision for the offense, particularly in developing quarterback Cam Newton.
