A showdown against Mercer marks another significant event, as it will be their first meeting since a 35-10 win for Georgia Tech in 2016, and only the second clash since 1938.
The game at Stanford represents Georgia Tech”s first Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) matchup against a California-based member, with their previous meetings having occurred during bowl games. In those encounters, Georgia Tech triumphed in the 1991 Aloha Bowl and the 2001 Seattle Bowl.
For the first time since the 2005 Emerald Bowl against Utah, Georgia Tech returns to California for a regular season game, having last played in the Golden State against Southern California in 1969.
Additionally, Louisville will be making a return visit to Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field for the first time since 2020, while Wake Forest will arrive in Atlanta for the first time since 2017. Conversely, Georgia Tech will visit Pittsburgh for the first time since a 26-21 victory over the ranked Panthers in 2022.
As Georgia Tech approaches the 2026 season, they aim to build upon their impressive 9-4 record from the previous year, which tied for the 10th-most wins in the school”s 133-year football history and secured a No. 24 final national ranking.
