Clint Hurtt Interviews for Dolphins” Defensive Coordinator Role

Clint Hurtt, the defensive line coach for the Philadelphia Eagles, recently interviewed for the defensive coordinator position with the Miami Dolphins. Hurtt has played a crucial role in the success of the Eagles” defense this season, and he described his interview experience as positive. However, he emphasized that there are no updates available at this time.

During a press conference at Hancock Whitney Stadium, where he is serving as the head coach for the National team at the Senior Bowl, Hurtt shared, “I felt like it went well. The feedback I got was that it went really well. But nothing to really talk about right now at this point in time. But that already happened.”

If Hurtt receives an offer and accepts the position with Miami, he would become the second defensive coach to leave Philadelphia for a promotion this offseason. Joining the Eagles in 2024, Hurtt has been instrumental in developing a defensive tackle group that includes standout players such as Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, and Moro Ojomo. Carter achieved All-Pro status in 2024, Davis significantly improved throughout the season, and Ojomo emerged as a promising talent.

Hurtt”s connection to Miami runs deep, as he both played and coached for the Hurricanes before embarking on his NFL coaching journey. His coaching experience includes stints with the Chicago Bears from 2014 to 2016 and the Seattle Seahawks from 2017 to 2023, where he served as the defensive coordinator in 2022 and 2023.

As the coaching carousel continues, the Dolphins are looking to strengthen their defensive unit, and Hurtt”s interview signifies their intent to find a highly qualified candidate.
