Texas A&M Football Unveils Spring Practice Schedule for 2026 Season

Texas A&M football has officially announced its spring practice schedule for the 2026 season, signaling a renewed commitment to the field. The practices are set to commence on March 18 and will span a total of 15 sessions, concluding on April 18.

Head coach Mike Elko and his coaching staff will utilize this time not only to assess the team”s newcomers but also to foster chemistry among returning starters. This comes after the Aggies secured a notable top-12 transfer portal class earlier this year, which has generated excitement among the fanbase.

The offense has seen significant changes, particularly following the departure of key players to the NFL Draft, including leading receiver K.C. Concepcion and offensive linemen Trey Zuhn III, Chase Bisontis, and Dametrious Crownover. This situation has heightened the urgency for the team to seek immediate reinforcements.

One of the most significant additions is quarterback Reed, who played a pivotal role in leading Texas A&M to its first College Football Playoff appearance, accumulating over 3,100 passing yards and nearly 500 rushing yards. Although there are some concerns regarding interceptions, his return is expected to bolster the Aggies” offensive prospects.

In an effort to strengthen their lineup, the Aggies have successfully attracted experienced contributors from the transfer portal. Isaiah Horton, the second-rated wide receiver in the portal, and offensive tackle Wilkin Formby, ranked seventh, have both committed to Texas A&M after previous stints with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

The addition of depth to the offensive line is also noteworthy, with former LSU player Tyree Adams and former South Carolina athlete Trovon Baugh bringing valuable SEC experience to College Station. This development provides the Aggies with various options in the trenches.

Additionally, the program has secured two tight ends, Houston Thomas from Fresno and Richie Anderson III from UTSA, both of whom had successful receiving seasons, each surpassing 300 yards in 2025. Anderson III recorded three touchdowns, while Thomas found the end zone twice.

As the Aggies prepare for the upcoming season, the spring practices will be crucial for shaping the team”s identity and strategy moving forward.
