Steelers Add Jahri Evans to Coaching Staff Under Mike McCarthy

The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing in former All-Pro offensive lineman Jahri Evans to join the coaching staff under head coach Mike McCarthy. This move marks a notable addition, as Evans previously played for McCarthy during the 2017 season with the Green Bay Packers.

Evans has spent the last four years coaching, beginning as an intern with the New Orleans Saints before rising to the position of assistant offensive line coach. His experience and reputation have positioned him as a promising figure in the coaching ranks, though it remains unclear what specific title he will hold with the Steelers. Joining Evans, the Steelers are also set to welcome veteran offensive line coach James Campen to their staff.

A native of Pennsylvania, Evans played college football at Bloomsburg University from 2002 to 2005. He was selected in the fourth round of the draft by the Saints, where he had an impressive tenure from 2006 to 2015. Throughout his career, he was recognized as one of the top guards in the league, earning five All-Pro selections and being named to the 2010s All-Decade Team. His contributions to the game have also landed him as a consistent finalist for the Hall of Fame and a member of the Saints Hall of Fame.

During his time in the NFL, Evans started in 183 games, demonstrating his durability and skill on the field. The Steelers are poised to benefit from his extensive experience as they aim to strengthen their offensive line under McCarthy”s leadership.
