Seahawks Franchise to Be Sold After the Super Bowl

The Seattle Seahawks are reportedly preparing to go on the market after a successful season. According to reports from ESPN”s Seth Wickersham and Brady Henderson, the Paul Allen Estate intends to sell the team following the Super Bowl.

Since the passing of Paul Allen in 2018, questions have arisen regarding the future ownership of the franchise, which Allen co-founded with Bill Gates. His sister, Jody Allen, serves as the executor of the trust and is tasked with directing the proceeds from the sales of both the Seahawks and the NBA“s Portland Trail Blazers to charitable causes.

In August 2025, the estate reportedly sold the Trail Blazers for a substantial amount, although the finalization of that sale is still pending. The Seahawks are anticipated to be valued between $7 billion and $8 billion, according to the recent report.

The Allen Estate acquired the Seahawks in 1996. The team achieved its first Super Bowl victory in 2014 and is now aiming for a second championship against the New England Patriots in Santa Clara next Sunday.
