Don Crisman, a dedicated fan of the New England Patriots and a resident of Kennebunk, has made history by attending every single Super Bowl since the inaugural game in 1967. For most individuals, experiencing the Super Bowl is a once-in-a-lifetime event. However, for Crisman, it has been a cherished tradition spanning nearly six decades.
As he approaches the age of 90, Crisman has announced that Super Bowl LX will mark the end of his remarkable journey with the “Never Miss a Super Bowl Club.” “This is the final one. I have said that before, but this time, I mean it,” Crisman stated emphatically.
At its peak, the club boasted six members, but now only three remain: Crisman, Tommy Henschel, and Gregory Eaton. Reflecting on his extensive attendance, Crisman remarked, “It became a habit, and then it became a challenge, you know, how far can we go? Never in my wildest dreams did I think we”d ever reach 50. Never mind 60.”
Throughout his journey, Crisman has witnessed his beloved Patriots compete in 11 Super Bowls, securing six victories. “My favorite is the Patriots winning 51 after being down 28 to 3,” he recalled, emphasizing the thrill of that comeback.
This year, a potential championship for a team that finished with a 4-13 record last season could provide an extraordinary conclusion to an already incredible story. “Good way to go out. We just got to secure that win,” Crisman added, expressing optimism for the upcoming game.
With 60 Super Bowls under his belt, Crisman”s legacy is unmatched. “I think I”m ready, you know, for it to be the last one. You know, between little health issues and the economics of it, it”s not an inexpensive hobby. So, I think I”m ready, and I think I”m happy with it. I”m actually shocked we got this far,” he concluded, reflecting on his remarkable streak.
