Kirk Herbstreit from ESPN has made his forecast for Super Bowl LX, which will feature the Seattle Seahawks facing off against the New England Patriots. If you are anticipating a competitive match, Herbstreit shares that sentiment.
During an appearance on “The Dan Patrick Show,” Herbstreit stated, “I think Seattle is going to win a three-point game.” He emphasized that the contest will likely be closely contested, indicative of a typical NFL matchup that extends into the fourth quarter. “One possession is going to be critical late. I think Seattle wins a 24-21 kind of game,” he added.
The last meeting between the Seahawks and Patriots in the Super Bowl was a memorable one, occurring during Super Bowl XLIX. In that game, the Patriots narrowly defeated the Seahawks 28-24, thanks to a pivotal interception by Malcolm Butler at the goal line. At that time, the Seahawks were striving for consecutive championships, but the outcome instead contributed to the rise of a new Patriots dynasty, leading to multiple Super Bowl victories in the following years.
As the Seahawks aim to lift their second Lombardi Trophy, the health of safety Nick Emmanwori will play a crucial role. Emmanwori is currently dealing with an ankle injury sustained right before the Super Bowl. “I”ll be ready to go,” he assured, according to Omar Ruiz of the NFL Network.
Emmanwori”s injury occurred at the end of practice, and Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald confirmed that it is a low-ankle sprain. “He rolled his ankle yesterday, and he”s got a low ankle sprain,” Macdonald explained, as reported by John Boyle of Seahawks.com. “He”s going to do the walkthrough today; not sure how extensive, if at all, he”s going to practice. But he”s confident; we”ve got a great plan, and we fully expect him to play… He”s doing great and moving around. We just have to make sure we handle it the right way. We”re probably going to be overly careful and over-cautious at this point to make sure we”re rolling going into the weekend.”
Emmanwori himself remarked on the incident, saying, “It was just towards the end of practice; I just rolled my ankle. It kind of caught me off guard. The practice wasn”t anything crazy; we weren”t going hard out there, but I just rolled it. I”ll be good to go for Sunday, so I”m looking forward to that.”
Super Bowl LX is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 PM ET on Sunday in Santa Clara, with the game being broadcast on NBC.
