Ben Roethlisberger Supports James Harrison Amid Steelers Controversy

Ben Roethlisberger recently expressed admiration for James Harrison during a public appearance, as the Pittsburgh Steelers face some offseason turmoil primarily involving former players. This ongoing drama has seen several individuals, both past and present, voicing their opinions about former players criticizing head coach Mike Tomlin.

At the forefront of these criticisms is Harrison, alongside Roethlisberger, who has been the subject of a harsh rebuke from Joey Porter Sr.. During an episode of Cam Heyward”s podcast, Porter stated, “The s*** that do that we don”t talk about is crazy. Out of anybody that talk, he should never grab a microphone and talk Steelers business. Because if we talking Steelers business, his a** is fould of all foul. The s*** that he did is foul of all foul. He”s not a good teammate. Won a Super Bowl with him, But the person? He”s just not a good teammate. He knows that. Anybody in the Steeler building knows that. I”ve only won one Super Bowl and that was my quarterback. So do I love my quarterback? Yeah. But is he a good person? No.”

Whether Roethlisberger was aware of Porter”s words is unclear, but he certainly caught attention during an interview at the Professional Bull Riders event at PPG Arena over the weekend. Roethlisberger commented on the impressive physicality of the bull riders, saying, “These guys are unbelievable. I haven”t seen this much muscle this close since James Harrison was in the weight room. These guys are taking beatings and limping out of here. I”m nervous for them. It”s so fun to watch.”

Roethlisberger”s praise for Harrison aligns with the linebacker”s reputation as one of the most intimidating figures in the locker room during his playing days. Even in retirement, Harrison”s presence continues to resonate. Meanwhile, Porter”s remarks have circulated widely online, with various players sharing their own opinions on the matter.

Despite the current tensions, the Steelers have historically managed to resolve internal conflicts, suggesting that any animosities may eventually dissipate. As of now, Roethlisberger has not publicly responded to the criticisms he has faced, and it remains uncertain if he intends to address them in the future.
