Three Wolfpack Teams Clinch State Championships in Pop Warner Football

Last weekend in Plainfield, three youth football teams from Wolfpack Athletics in Ottawa achieved remarkable success by winning their respective state championships in the Pop Warner Football league.

The 8U Wolfpack secured the Pop Warner 8U Illinois Division 2 state title with an impressive 25-12 victory over the Illinois Junior Celtics. Prior to that, they earned their spot in the championship game by defeating Algonquin 19-13 in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the 12U Wolfpack triumphed in a thrilling overtime match, overcoming the Bolingbrook Trojans 19-13 to claim the Pop Warner 12U Illinois Division 3 state championship. They advanced to the final after a commanding 30-6 semifinal win against Bolingbrook.

In another exciting matchup, the 9U Wolfpack edged out the Rockford Renegades 16-13, avenging their only previous loss to capture the Pop Warner 9U Illinois Division 3 state title. They secured their place in the finals with a narrow 12-6 victory over Memorial Park in the semifinal round.

All three championship teams from the Wolfpack are set to compete this weekend in the Pop Warner Mid-America Regional Championships in Crown Point, Indiana. They will face off against teams from the host state, with the 8U team going up against Portage, the 9U team meeting Merrillville, and the 12U squad taking on Michigan City.
