The University of Minnesota Gophers football team has bolstered its 2027 recruiting class with the addition of receiver David Mack, who announced his commitment on Tuesday. Mack is the second skill-position player from Moorhead, Minnesota to join the Gophers, following his high school teammate, running back Taye Reich, who committed last week.
In a post on social media platform X, Mack expressed his excitement, saying, “I”m home! All the Glory to God!! After a great visit and conversation with head coach P.J. Fleck, I”m extremely blessed and proud to say I am COMMITTING to the University of Minnesota!”
The 6-foot, 175-pound receiver had an impressive season, recording 121 receptions for 1,607 yards and 26 touchdowns. His performance helped lead the Moorhead Spuds to the Class 6A state championship game, where they faced off against Edina.
Although Mack does not yet have a star rating, he had received interest from other programs, including Kansas, Colorado State, and South Dakota State. The Gophers were the first to extend an offer back in March 2025, with additional interest from Wisconsin, Iowa State, and Iowa.
With Mack”s commitment, the Gophers now have five players lined up for their 2027 class, enhancing their recruiting efforts as they look to build a strong future for the program.
