The University of Minnesota has secured a significant commitment from the top wide receiver in the state, David Mack. The Moorhead native officially announced his decision to join the Gophers on Tuesday, enhancing their 2027 recruiting class with another promising in-state talent.
Mack took to X to express his excitement, stating, “I”m HO️ME!! All the Glory goes to God!! After a great visit and conversation, I”m extremely Blessed and Proud to say I am COMMITTING to the University of Minnesota!! Thank you, Mom, Dad, teammates, and coaches for helping reach this point.” His post included the hashtag #ATGTG, reflecting his enthusiasm for the Gophers.
Standing at 6 feet and weighing 170 pounds, Mack had an impressive junior season at Moorhead High School. He achieved the state”s “Triple Crown” by leading Minnesota in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns, finishing with 121 catches for 1,607 yards and 26 touchdowns over 13 games. His performance has caught the attention of various colleges, with notable offers from Kansas, Colorado State, and South Dakota State, alongside interest from Wisconsin and Ohio State.
Although currently unranked on major recruiting platforms, it is anticipated that Mack will rise to the top position among wide receivers in Minnesota as rankings are updated. His commitment follows that of his teammate Taye Reich, who pledged to the Gophers last week. Additionally, Mack”s quarterback, Jett Feeney, has shown interest in Minnesota, potentially strengthening their connection.
Furthermore, Wayzata defensive lineman Eli Diane has also committed to the Gophers, marking a successful recruitment period for Minnesota as they secure three of the state”s elite players. As the early national signing day in December approaches, head coach P.J. Fleck and his staff are off to an impressive start in their 2027 recruiting efforts.
With the Gophers building a strong roster, fans are eager to see how these commitments will translate to success on the field in the coming years.
