Texas A&M”s KC Concepcion Named Finalist for Paul Hornung Award

Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion has been recognized as a finalist for the prestigious Paul Hornung Award, which honors the nation”s most versatile college football player. As the 2025 college football season approaches its conclusion, Concepcion has established himself as one of the most explosive playmakers in the sport.

In his eight games this season, Concepcion has amassed 36 receptions for 545 yards and seven touchdowns. His standout performances extend beyond receiving, as he has proven to be a formidable threat on special teams as well. The junior has recorded two punt return touchdowns, highlighted by a remarkable 79-yard return against LSU, which significantly impacted the game in Baton Rouge.

Concepcion”s average of 20.6 yards per punt return ranks him fourth in the nation, and his two touchdowns from returns place him second among all players nationwide. The 2025 finalists for the Paul Hornung Award feature top-tier talent from various conferences, with six players representing five different conferences along with one independent program. Statistical comparisons among the finalists show impressive performances, including Wayne Knight with 85 carries for 521 yards and eight touchdowns, along with Caullin Lacy from Louisville, who has made significant contributions in both receiving and rushing categories.
