LSU Football Pursues Rising Star Caiden Bellard Amid Spring Camp

Caiden Bellard, a talented running back from Lafayette, is set to visit the LSU Tigers on Tuesday morning as the team begins its Spring Camp. This visit comes during a chaotic offseason when many college programs, including the Arkansas Razorbacks, are vying for his commitment.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound athlete has quickly gained recognition as one of the most promising prospects in Louisiana. He has received offers from several prestigious programs, including the Florida State Seminoles, USC Trojans, Ohio State Buckeyes, and TCU Horned Frogs.

“I worked really hard to get here, and I”m going to continue to work hard,” Bellard stated. “But the ones I would say I didn”t expect right away are LSU, Ohio State, Houston, and Florida State. When I got them, it just makes me want to go harder, because I know now where I can go with this and also how fast I could lose it.”

Bellard recently completed a successful sophomore season at Lafayette Christian Academy, averaging 6.4 yards per carry, totaling 1,532 yards, and scoring 21 touchdowns. His performance included eight games where he surpassed the 100-yard mark, solidifying his status as a player to watch in the coming years.

“I”m trying to lock in dates on the other ones, but I”m trying to get to Houston, Florida State, and TCU,” he mentioned regarding his upcoming visits.

As Bellard prepares for his visit, Lane Kiffin expressed his appreciation for Louisiana high school football, stating, “The high schools here, it”s been great going to them and receiving the feedback. I”ve always enjoyed, over time, coming here and recruiting. I used to always say it”s like: They love football. Everybody says they love football but the high school coaches here and the people in school, they love football. They love coaching football. They love coaching the kids. They genuinely care about the kids. Something that”s kind of gotten lost a little bit. I”d love to sign a lot of Louisiana kids.”

The LSU Tigers are eager to make a strong impression on Bellard as they navigate the first day of Spring Camp at the Football Operations Building.
