De”Von Achane Shares Thoughts on Chris Grier”s Dismissal After Dolphins” Rough Start

Miami Dolphins running back De”Von Achane opened up about his feelings regarding the recent dismissal of the team”s former general manager, Chris Grier. In a locker room interview on Thursday, Achane conveyed his disappointment over Grier”s firing, highlighting his character as a good person with an admirable personality.

The Dolphins have faced a dismal season under the leadership of head coach Mike McDaniel, currently holding a record of 2-7. The team”s struggles culminated in a disheartening 28-6 defeat at home against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9, prompting management to part ways with Grier after a decade in his role.

While some may attribute the Dolphins” woes to Grier”s management, not everyone shares that view. Sports analyst Nick Wright discussed on “First Things First” that a change at the quarterback position is critical for the team to address its issues. Wright expressed concerns about Tua Tagovailoa, suggesting he may not be the right fit for the Dolphins, especially after the quarterback signed a significant contract extension in July 2024.

Tagovailoa”s performance this season has been a point of contention, as he has struggled to produce consistent scoring opportunities. In his nine games played, he has accumulated 1,779 passing yards with 15 touchdowns, but has also thrown 11 interceptions and faced 18 sacks.

Furthermore, the pressure isn”t solely on Grier; Coach Mike McDaniel also finds himself under scrutiny following the team”s disappointing performance. Recently, Colin Cowherd proposed on his show that the Dolphins should consider replacing McDaniel with Lane Kiffin, the head coach at Ole Miss. Despite this speculation, reports indicate that the Dolphins plan to retain McDaniel for the remainder of the season, although uncertainty looms over his future with the team beyond this year.

The Dolphins are set to face the Buffalo Bills this Sunday at 1 p.m. ET, a matchup that could have significant implications for both teams as they navigate the remainder of the season.
