Joe Brady Prioritizes Josh Allen”s Success as Bills Head Coach

Joe Brady, the new head coach of the Buffalo Bills, has made it clear that his focus is on Josh Allen and his development rather than personal accolades. In a recent interview, Brady opened up about the significance of his relationship with the quarterback and how it has influenced his career path.

Brady explained that his evolution as a coach is closely tied to Allen”s growth as a player. During an interview with SiriusXM”s NFL Radio, he highlighted the importance of their partnership, acknowledging that it has not always been easy. “He”s been just as critical for me,” Brady remarked. “I”ve grown so much as a coach by coaching him, and our relationship is continuing to grow. It”s not always perfect. We have tough conversations and get on each other.”

This dynamic is built on mutual trust and respect, with Brady stating, “He knows I care about his success more than my own. He wants to be coached hard, and he knows that he makes a lot of my bad play calls work.” This statement underscores the accountability that exists in their relationship, with both recognizing their roles in each other”s successes.

As the head coach, Brady has witnessed moments where Allen”s instincts have superseded the planned plays, resulting in positive outcomes. Such instances have also shaped how Brady assesses his own performance. “I”m understanding of that, too. Once in a while, there will be a play-call that I wish he would just make the easy completion,” he explained. “I try to get mad and then I realize it was a bad play-call, and he bailed me out, too.”

Brady expressed deep admiration for Allen, stating, “I love that man. I”m only in this role because I had an opportunity to coach him, and I understand that. I don”t take that lightly. But I want him to get everything that he deserves as a player.” This sentiment positions Allen at the heart of Brady”s leadership approach as the Bills embark on a new chapter under his guidance.
