Mike Kafka Interviews for Eagles Offensive Coordinator Position

In an intriguing development, Mike Kafka, the interim head coach of the New York Giants, has interviewed for the Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator position, as reported by ESPN”s Jeremy Fowler.

Despite the availability of seven other head coaching vacancies across the league, Kafka has not received any interest from other teams for head coach roles. He has served as the Giants” offensive coordinator since the start of the 2022 season and was later elevated to assistant head coach under Brian Daboll. Under his guidance, the Giants have struggled offensively, ranking fifth in the league for the fewest total yards and points scored over the past four years.

Kafka has a connection to the Eagles, having been drafted by the franchise in the fourth round of the 2010 NFL Draft. His potential hiring would mark the fifth offensive coordinator for the Eagles in as many seasons, following a series of unsuccessful tenures with coaches like Patullo and Brian Johnson. The departures of Shane Steichen and Kellen Moore to head coaching positions in Indianapolis and New Orleans, respectively, have left the Eagles in search of new leadership.

Additionally, Falcons offensive coordinator Zac Robinson is also being considered as a candidate for the role, indicating that the Eagles are exploring several options to revitalize their offense.
