NFL fans expressed their frustration with Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell following the team”s 31-24 defeat to the Green Bay Packers on Thanksgiving. The matchup, held at Ford Field, marked a disappointing start to the holiday for Lions supporters.
Many fans took to social media to voice their displeasure with Campbell”s coaching decisions, particularly highlighting missed scoring opportunities throughout the game. The Lions struggled to capitalize on key moments, failing in two fourth-down attempts, while the Packers converted all three of theirs, demonstrating a stark contrast in execution.
The loss dropped the Lions” record to 7-5, putting them in a precarious position regarding playoff contention, as they would be excluded if the season concluded at this moment. In contrast, the Packers improved their standing to 8-3-1, solidifying their playoff chances.
Campbell attempted to shed light on his team”s struggles, admitting that they are not in an advantageous position. Despite tying the Packers in total plays at 60 and only being outgained by seven yards (359 to 352), the Lions couldn”t secure the win.
Quarterback Jared Goff had a solid performance, completing 20 of 26 passes for 256 yards and two touchdowns. Wide receiver Jameson Williams stood out with a game-high 144 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the other side, Jordan Love finished with 18 completions on 30 attempts for 234 yards and four touchdowns, aided by Dontayvion Wicks, who caught six passes for 94 yards and two touchdowns.
The Lions will look to bounce back as they prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys next Thursday, kicking off Week 14 of the season.
