Wall Hawks Aim for Undefeated District Season as Lady Hawks Prepare for Playoffs

As playoff season approaches, the Wall Hawks and Lady Hawks are poised to make their mark. Both teams have dominated their district rivals throughout the season, with the Hawks aiming to replicate the Lady Hawks” flawless 12-0 record. With only two regular season games remaining, the No. 15 Hawks are determined to finish their district campaign undefeated.

Under the leadership of head coach Parker Roberts, the team boasts a perfect 10-0 record and is set to take on the current second-place team, Jim Ned, on Friday night. Earlier this season, the Hawks narrowly defeated Jim Ned with a score of 50-44, and they are now looking to secure a second victory against them.

Despite already clinching the District 6-3A Region I title, the team”s focus remains on the immediate challenge ahead. “The biggest thing for is just trying to focus on one game at a time,” Roberts stated. “Being this close and us already knowing that we”re the one seed, we try not to look too far ahead to the playoffs already. take care of the two games that we have left and keep that mindset one game at a time, because when you get to the playoffs it”s one game at a time.”

On the other side, the Lady Hawks, led by head coach Silas Crisler, are gearing up for their upcoming postseason challenge. The No. 1 Lady Hawks will face Brady in the bi-district round at Winters High School on February 16. According to Crisler, the toughness of the Lady Hawks is what sets them apart. “I have told our girls and they believe it that we are the toughest team in Texas,” he said. “We say that with pride and we live it out every day. We”re going to continue that every single playoff game.”

As the players prepare for the playoffs, they highlight team chemistry and depth as crucial components of their success. “We not only have a starting five, we have a great five coming off the bench,” stated senior point guard Kathrine Lewis. “We”re very versatile. If somebody tries to shut someone down, we have another girl coming in to take her spot. No one”s better than each other. We all have our own strengths that all go into the team and help us pull out wins.”

This season has been a testament to the hard work and dedication of both Wall Hawks teams, and as they look ahead to the playoffs, the anticipation builds for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to their campaigns.
