49ers Target Kenyon Sadiq to Enhance Offense for Brock Purdy

The San Francisco 49ers have made headlines recently by signing star wide receiver Mike Evans, but their efforts to bolster the offense for quarterback Brock Purdy may not stop there. After a challenging season in 2025, which saw Evans sidelined for a significant portion due to injury, he managed only 30 receptions, 368 yards, and three touchdowns, marking a career low. However, experts believe that Evans will prove to be a dependable target for Purdy in 2026.

Draft analyst Todd McShay anticipates that the 49ers will seek additional offensive talent in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. He predicts that the team will use their 27th overall pick to select former Oregon tight end Kenyon Sadiq. McShay notes that with numerous edge rushers, receivers, and offensive tackles expected to be drafted early, Sadiq could fall into the latter part of the first round, making him a viable option for San Francisco.

According to McShay, there are several teams that could realistically draft Sadiq, including the Los Angeles Rams at 13, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at 15, and the Philadelphia Eagles at 23. However, in his analysis, he places the 49ers at number 27 as a logical fit. This is particularly relevant given the role of the tight end in head coach Kyle Shanahan”s system and the recent injury issues faced by tight end George Kittle.

Kittle, a two-time All-Pro, has had his share of injuries, including a significant one during the 49ers” NFC Wild Card victory in Philadelphia. He has openly discussed the matter on the podcast “Bussin” with the Boys,” acknowledging how injuries can impact a player”s career. Even if Kittle”s recovery goes better than expected, drafting a successor could still be a prudent move for the organization.

As the draft approaches, all eyes will be on the 49ers and their strategy to further enhance their offensive capabilities to support Brock Purdy, ensuring they remain competitive in the league.
