The Alabama Crimson Tide football program has made a significant addition to its roster for the 2026 season by securing the commitment of wide receiver Tyler Henderson, who previously committed to Kennesaw State. This change occurred on Saturday.
Henderson, who played his last two seasons at Mississippi Gulf Community College, earned the title of JUCO All-American for his outstanding performance in the 2025 season. Standing at 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds, the Vicksburg, Mississippi native has made quite an impact on the field.

This group will be under the guidance of new assistant coach Derrick Nix, marking a fresh direction as Kalen DeBoer enters his third season with the team.
In other news, Alabama”s long-distance running star, Doris Lemngole, clinched the 5,000-meter title at the 2025 Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, finishing with a time of 14:51.21. This achievement not only set a new personal record for Lemngole by one second but also solidified her position at No. 2 on the NCAA”s all-time list for the 5,000 meters. She joins Parker Valby as one of the only two collegiate women to have broken the 15-minute barrier in this event multiple times.
The date of February 15 holds historical significance for Alabama football. In 1919, lineman Fred Davis was born in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1970, Danny Ford and Alvin Samples were appointed permanent team captains for the 1969 season, both earning All-SEC honors. Additionally, on this date in 1962, CBS-TV acquired exclusive rights to college football games from the NCAA for a sum of $10.2 million for the 1962-63 seasons. In stark contrast, the current deal with the SEC, viewed as a tremendous bargain for the network, averages $55 million annually and is set to expire following the 2023 season.
February 15 also marks the birth of Ed Stinson in 1990 in Homestead, Florida, and the retirement of Wendell Hudson”s jersey in 2020 during a halftime ceremony, commemorating his role as the first African-American to receive a scholarship and serve as a head coach at the university. In a thrilling basketball game, Herb Jones, despite playing with a cast on one hand, contributed 17 rebounds, helping to secure an 88-82 victory over LSU.
Recently, Alabama football players participated in a fan engagement event called “Yea Alabama,” allowing them to sign autographs and interact with fans ahead of the basketball game on Saturday night. This event showcased the connection between the athletes and their supporters, further enhancing the community spirit.
