On Saturday, Ohio State will honor 16 football players who have completed their eligibility during Senior Day festivities as they face Rutgers.
Lorenzo Styles Jr. and Sonny Styles, brothers who have shared significant moments on and off the field, will be among those celebrated. From their high school days under the Friday night lights at Pickerington Central to hoisting a national championship trophy at Ohio State, their journey together has been remarkable.
Over the past four years, Sonny has evolved into a captain, proudly wearing the Block O while becoming the Buckeyes” second leading tackler at linebacker. “It means a lot to me. The past four years flew by,” Sonny Styles expressed. “I”m trying to take in each and every moment.”
Lorenzo, who transferred to Ohio State from Notre Dame, has made his mark as a starting nickel this season. “We have a lot more games to play, a lot more opportunities to become the player I want to be, and the player I set out to be when I came here,” he remarked.
Saturday”s Senior Day Ceremony will not only celebrate their individual achievements but also their bond as brothers. “It means a lot,” Lorenzo Styles stated. “I never thought me and my brother would be walking on the same Senior Day. It”s just a blessing.”
The Styles family is expecting 17 relatives to attend the event, including their mother, an Ohio State graduate, and their father, Lorenzo, a distinguished former Buckeye.
As the Styles brothers prepare for this milestone, they reflect on the journey that brought them to this point, celebrating both their personal successes and their tight-knit family connection.
