Crowder completed 27 of 43 passes and did not throw any interceptions, showcasing his efficiency and skill on the field.
The Trojans” offense was bolstered by DJ Epps, who recorded eight receptions for 103 yards and scored two touchdowns. Ethan Conner also had a significant impact, contributing 85 receiving yards and two touchdowns on just three catches. Conner”s 26-yard touchdown catch from Crowder late in the first quarter put Troy ahead 10-3, while his 39-yard scoring reception in the third quarter extended the lead to 17-6.
In response, Georgia State mounted a 12-play, 75-yard drive that consumed nearly six minutes. The drive ended with Branson Robinson rushing in from four yards out, cutting the deficit to 17-12 after the Panthers failed to convert a two-point attempt. Despite their efforts, Georgia State could not reclaim the lead.
Christian Veilleux, the quarterback for Georgia State, completed 19 of 38 passes for 307 yards, throwing one touchdown and one interception. Javon Robinson was a key target, catching seven passes for 146 yards, including a 17-yard touchdown reception.
With this victory, Troy is set to face Southern Miss next Saturday. The outcome of this matchup will determine which team advances to the conference championship game on December 5.
