Notre Dame continues to seek additional talent for its 2026 roster, and this week, they will host defensive tackle Tionne Gray from Oregon. Following a successful two-day span of commitments from the transfer portal, Irish fans have expressed their enthusiasm over the influx of new talent.
Despite the recent successes, there remains a pressing need at the defensive tackle position. Many anticipated that Notre Dame would aim to add at least two players to this area. While securing Francis Brewu was a significant achievement, the team was unable to convince James Smith to join, as he opted for Ohio State instead. Consequently, there is still an opportunity available.
Tionne Gray, who stands at 6″6″ and weighs 336 pounds, is set to visit Notre Dame on Thursday, according to his agent. Currently, Gray has one confirmed visit, but reports indicate he may also meet with other schools, including Nebraska, Florida, Missouri, or Clemson, on Friday. While these plans are in place, it is important to note that not all scheduled visits come to fruition.
With three years of eligibility remaining, Gray”s addition could significantly bolster an already formidable Notre Dame roster aiming for a national championship. The Irish coaching staff is hopeful that this visit will lead to a commitment, adding depth and talent to their defensive line.
