Olmsted Falls Football Star Owen Singleton Commits to Ashland University

In a significant moment for Olmsted Falls football, running back Owen Singleton has made headlines by committing to Ashland University for his college football career. Singleton, who holds the record for the most rushing yards in the history of the Bulldogs program, announced his decision on January 30.

Singleton”s commitment comes after an impressive high school career, where he surpassed the previous record held by former Bulldog Spencer Linville, who accumulated 3,727 rushing yards. By the end of his senior season, Singleton tallied a remarkable 3,842 rushing yards.

During his final year with Olmsted Falls, Singleton rushed for 1,412 yards and scored 19 touchdowns, showcasing his talents in the Bulldogs” triple option offense. His remarkable performance earned him All-Ohio honors for two consecutive seasons, along with first-team accolades in both the Southwestern Conference and the Northeast Lakes District. Additionally, he was recognized as a semifinalist for the 2025 Matt Wilhelm Award.

Singleton”s decision to join Ashland also sees him reuniting with former teammate Brendan Hearns, who graduated from Olmsted Falls in 2025 and recently completed his first season as a safety for the Eagles. Last season, Ashland finished with an impressive record of 10-3, including an 8-1 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC), and they made an appearance in the NCAA Division II tournament.

In the postseason, Ashland secured a victory over Minnesota Duluth before being eliminated by Ferris State, who went on to capture the national championship with a perfect record. Singleton played a pivotal role in leading the Bulldogs to a 7-5 record, culminating in a Division II Region 6 quarterfinal appearance, where they triumphed over Fremont Ross with a score of 69-38. It was in this game that Singleton etched his name into the record books.

The Olmsted Falls community is excited to see what the future holds for Singleton as he embarks on this new chapter at Ashland, where he aims to continue building on his successful football journey.
