Texas Christian University (TCU) has announced the commitment of quarterback Jaden Craig, a seasoned player from Harvard University, for the 2026 football season. This acquisition promises to have a significant impact on the Frogs” future.
Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 215 pounds, Craig hails from Montclair, New Jersey. He recently completed a remarkable season in which he led the Crimson to a 9-2 record in the Ivy League and secured the program”s first appearance in the FCS Playoff. Under his leadership, Harvard”s offense thrived, finishing first in total yardage with an impressive average of 438.6 yards per game, outpacing the second-best offense by nearly 53 yards. The team also averaged 36.5 points per game during this successful campaign.
In an impressive display of skill, Craig became Harvard”s all-time leading passer, amassing 6,074 passing yards and 52 touchdown passes over his career. This achievement surpassed the previous record held by Neil Rose, which had remained unbroken for nearly 25 years. During the 2025 season, he led the Ivy League in passing with 2,869 yards, throwing 25 touchdowns against just seven interceptions, and boasting a completion percentage of 61.5, making him one of the most precise quarterbacks in the conference.
Craig”s ability to throw deep is particularly noteworthy; he averaged 13.8 yards per pass attempt last season, a statistic that would have placed him at the top of the FBS rankings among quarterbacks with at least 300 attempts. Notably, the next highest average was recorded by the nation”s leading passer, Drew Mestemaker, followed closely by Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza.
With Sonny Dykes at the helm, TCU has made a bold move in acquiring Craig, but the Frogs understand that this is just the beginning. The coaching staff is looking to use his commitment as a springboard to attract further talent to the program. In light of recent departures, TCU will need to enhance its receiving corps and continue to develop its offensive line and young running backs to stay competitive in the highly competitive Big 12 Conference.
The transfer portal remains open until January 16, 2026, giving TCU ample opportunity to bolster its roster ahead of the new season. As the Frogs prepare for this upcoming chapter, they will aim to capitalize on the momentum generated by Craig”s commitment.
