USC Women”s Basketball Secures Fifth Consecutive Victory Against Indiana Hoosiers

The USC Women of Troy achieved their fifth consecutive win of the season with a hard-fought 79-73 victory over the Indiana Hoosiers. This match, held on February 12, 2026, at the Galen Center, showcased the Trojans” resilience and toughness as they faced a challenging opponent.

Leading the charge for USC was guard Jazzy Davidson, who scored a team-high 24 points on 8-of-17 shooting and contributed six rebounds. Her performance was complemented by Kennedy Smith and Kara Dunn, who added 15 and 16 points, respectively. Despite the strong individual performances, the game proved to be a struggle for the Trojans against a Big Ten team that has struggled with a 3-10 conference record.

Indiana entered the game without their star player, senior guard Shay Ciezki, who is currently the leading scorer in the Big Ten. However, freshman Maya Makalusky rose to the occasion, delivering an impressive performance with 29 points on 9-of-15 shooting, along with six rebounds. Makalusky”s momentum peaked in the fourth quarter, where she scored 14 points, fueling a near comeback for the Hoosiers.

Although USC managed to secure the win, their overall performance was less than stellar. The Women of Troy shot just 38% from the field, compared to the Hoosiers” 48%. However, their defensive effort was commendable, as they dominated the boards with a total of 38 rebounds and forced 11 turnovers from Indiana.

With this victory, the Trojans improved their season record to 16-9 and 8-6 in conference play. They will have some time to prepare for their next matchup against the Wisconsin Badgers, scheduled for next Thursday.
