The Wisconsin Badgers have finalized their transfer portal class for the offseason, securing two key additions: quarterback Deuce Adams from Louisville and wide receiver Eli Adams. This marks an important step in reshaping the team”s roster as they prepare for the upcoming season.
Deuce Adams, a former four-star recruit in the Class of 2024, spent his true freshman year redshirting without seeing any game action. He served as the backup to starter Miller Moss during his redshirt freshman season and made his initial career start against SMU. In that game, Adams completed 12 of 17 passes for 94 yards and rushed five times for 24 yards. Over the course of the season, he amassed 112 passing yards, connecting on 15 of 21 attempts. Standing at 6 feet 2 inches and weighing 190 pounds, Adams fits the dual-threat profile favored by offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes, adding valuable depth to a quarterback room that is set to experience significant changes by 2025.
Additionally, the Badgers have brought in Colton Joseph from Old Dominion, who is expected to be the starting quarterback after a productive sophomore season where he threw for 2,624 yards, 21 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. Adams will compete with rising sophomore Carter Smith for the backup role, while the other is likely to be positioned as the third-string quarterback this season.
On the other hand, Eli Adams, rated as a three-star transfer recruit by 247Sports, also joins from Louisville. He has not played in any games during his true freshman or redshirt freshman seasons. At 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, he will add to a revamped wide receiver group eager to make an impact in the coming year.
With these latest signings, Wisconsin has now acquired a total of 33 players from the transfer portal this offseason, solidifying their roster as they head into spring practice.
