Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja”Marr Chase has been handed a one-game suspension without pay by the NFL after an incident involving Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Jalen Ramsey. The incident occurred during the fourth quarter of their recent game when Chase spat on Ramsey during a confrontation.
Following the altercation, Ramsey retaliated by grabbing Chase by the face mask and throwing a punch, leading to his ejection from the game. The league has classified Chase”s actions as unsportsmanlike conduct.
Despite Chase”s denial of the spitting incident after the game, a local television station in Cincinnati captured video evidence of the occurrence. As a result of the suspension, Chase will be unavailable for the Bengals” upcoming home game against the New England Patriots.
Chase has the option to appeal the suspension, though the details surrounding that process remain unclear.
