First on the list is Odafe Oweh, a former first-round pick who excelled with the Chargers, recording seven and a half sacks and a 16% pass rush win rate, ranking him 11th in the league. Signing Oweh to a four-year, $80 million contract would be a strategic move, as he brings a fresh dynamic to the pass rush, complementing existing players like Myles Murphy and Shamar Stewart.
Next, the Bengals should consider Bryan Cook, a 27-year-old safety with four years of experience, including playoff success with the Chiefs. His familiarity with high-pressure situations and his ties to Cincinnati make him a local hero candidate. Investing around $15 million per year in Cook could greatly improve the team”s safety position.
Leo Chenal is another promising option. As a versatile linebacker with playoff experience, his age and potential make him an attractive target. At 26, he is entering his prime, and a contract in the $7 to $10 million range would be a smart investment for the Bengals.
On the defensive line, Jadeveon Clowney stands out as an ideal fit. With his physical presence and ability to impact both the run and pass game, Clowney could serve as a one-year rental that enhances the Bengals” pass rush without disrupting their draft plans. His addition alongside Oweh, Murphy, and Shamar Stewart would solidify the defensive end rotation.
Finally, Logan Hall should be considered to boost the interior pass rush. By replacing Cam Sample with Hall, the Bengals would add depth and flexibility to their defensive line.
