The Buffalo Bills are looking to bolster their wide receiver corps, and recent projections suggest they may turn to Texas A&M for their next star. According to ESPN”s Matt Miller, the Bills are expected to select wide receiver KC Concepcion with their first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
After selecting Keon Coleman out of Florida State in the 2024 NFL Draft, the Bills had high hopes for him to emerge as their primary receiving threat. However, Coleman has not developed into the player the team envisioned, leading to speculation about his long-term viability in Buffalo.
In light of this, new head coach Joe Brady is anticipated to prioritize finding a suitable replacement this offseason. While free agency remains a potential avenue, the focus appears to be shifting toward the draft.
Miller remarked, “Based on the news conference after the Bills fired Sean McDermott, it sure seems like wide receiver Keon Coleman might not be a long-term answer for Buffalo. Even with the Bills shifting to a more balanced offense focused on NFL rushing champion James Cook III, there”s a severe need for wide receiver help. Josh Allen needs a pass catcher who can create and make plays.”
Concepcion, who stands at 5-foot-11 and weighs 190 pounds, may not have elite size, but he compensates with agility and the ability to generate yards after the catch. His versatility allows the Bills to utilize him effectively in the slot, where he can excel on choice routes, potentially becoming a significant asset for quarterback Josh Allen.
Despite the concerns about size, Concepcion”s speed and playmaking ability align well with Brady”s offensive philosophy. After starting his collegiate journey at North Carolina State, he transferred to Texas A&M in 2025, where he had a productive season, amassing 919 yards and nine touchdowns from 61 receptions. Additionally, he contributed on special teams, gaining 456 yards and scoring two touchdowns on 25 punt returns.
As the Bills aim to enhance their roster, selecting a dynamic player like Concepcion could provide the spark they need on offense.
