Bills GM Brandon Beane Discusses Keon Coleman”s Future with Team

Buffalo Bills general manager and president of football operations Brandon Beane has expressed optimism regarding wide receiver Keon Coleman”s future with the team. Beane stated that Coleman will “have every chance” to solidify his role with the organization from the upcoming spring workouts through at least the start of the 2026 season.

This discussion comes in light of comments made by Bills owner Terry Pegula during a January press conference, where he controversially attributed the team”s selection of Coleman, the 22-year-old receiver, to former head coach Sean McDermott. During an interview on NFL Network, Beane elaborated on Coleman”s connection with new head coach Joe Brady, who previously served as Buffalo”s offensive coordinator under McDermott.

Beane noted the positive dynamics surrounding Coleman, stating, “It”s been good.” He highlighted the excitement of the new wide receivers coach, Drew Terrell, and the new offensive coordinator, Pete Carmichael, both of whom are eager to work with Coleman. “They were like, “Man, I”m looking forward to working with him,”” Beane added. This shift in coaching staff signifies a “full reset” for Coleman as he enters his third year in the league.

Despite Coleman”s struggles in his initial seasons, including disciplinary actions and being benched at times, both Brady and star quarterback Josh Allen have shown their support for him. The Bills are reportedly considering acquiring Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown, should he become available. However, it appears that Buffalo, along with other teams, is hesitant to meet the Eagles” rumored asking price for Brown, leaving Coleman”s future uncertain in light of potential roster changes.

Throughout his first 26 regular-season games, Coleman has recorded 67 receptions for 960 yards and eight touchdowns. Beane remains hopeful for Coleman”s development, emphasizing, “Keon had a very good offseason last year, and honestly, he had a very good training camp.” He recalled a promising performance against the Ravens in the season opener, where Coleman amassed significant yardage.

Beane acknowledged that Coleman has demonstrated accountability and has not made excuses for his past performances. “We”re all hands on deck. We”re all going to do our part,” he stated, indicating a collective effort from the coaching staff and players to maximize Coleman”s contributions in the upcoming season. Given the circumstances, it seems essential for Coleman to maintain focus and professionalism to enhance his role in the Bills” offense through at least January 2027.
