The Washington Commanders have updated their injury report ahead of Thursday”s matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, listing running back Chris Rodriguez as questionable due to an illness.
Rodriguez has had a productive season, accumulating 96 carries for 435 yards and five touchdowns across 12 games. However, his status for the upcoming game remains uncertain as he deals with this unexpected health issue.
Currently, the Commanders” leading rusher is Jacory Croskey-Merritt. The team also has running backs Jeremy McNichols and Chase Edmonds on the 53-man roster, ready to step in if Rodriguez is unable to play.
In addition to Rodriguez”s situation, the Commanders have ruled out quarterbacks Jayden Daniels, who is dealing with a left elbow injury, and Marcus Mariota, who has injuries to his hand and quad. Josh Johnson is set to start, with Jeff Driskel and practice squad elevation Sam Hartman available as backup options.
On the defensive side, linebacker Nick Bellore (concussion), defensive tackle Daron Payne (back), and left tackle Laremy Tunsil (oblique) are also confirmed to be out for Thursday”s game.
