Alabama defensive back Domani Jackson recently expressed admiration for New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez during a media session at the NFL Combine. Jackson stated that he closely models his playing style after Gonzalez, highlighting their shared physical attributes and skill sets as a significant influence on his game.
“I think I try to model myself after Christian Gonzalez,” Jackson remarked. “He”s a big role model for me and I feel like we have the same body type, same attributes. So I really look up to him.”
Both players have a common background in the Pac-12, with Jackson starting his collegiate journey at USC before transferring to Alabama. Gonzalez, on the other hand, made a name for himself as a standout cornerback at Oregon before being selected in the first round of the NFL Draft. His contributions helped the Patriots reach a Super Bowl.
While Jackson may not yet be regarded as highly as Gonzalez, particularly due to some inconsistencies in his performance, he possesses the physical traits necessary for success in the professional ranks. His recognition of Gonzalez as a role model indicates a commitment to growth and development in his craft.
