Elijah Wilkinson Criticizes Falcons After Joining Cardinals

Former offensive tackle for the Atlanta Falcons, Elijah Wilkinson, did not hold back his feelings about his previous team shortly after he signed a free agent contract with the Arizona Cardinals last week.

Wilkinson, who played three of the last four seasons in Atlanta, engaged in a heated exchange with Falcons fans on social media, which he later deleted. His comments came in response to a fan expressing relief at his departure, to which Wilkinson replied, “Good luck with that clown show over there.”

It appears that Wilkinson”s frustrations were aimed at certain former teammates, as indicated by his messages exchanged in direct messages, which were captured in screenshots. He remarked, “Hahaha yeah alright, and all the passes Mooney dropped and Pitts f–k off my line,” suggesting he felt unsupported by some of the players while he was with the Falcons.

Wilkinson further added that he “bailed the Falcons out when they had nowhere to turn,” emphasizing his contributions to the team during challenging times.

Last season, he started 17 games at right tackle after Kaleb McGary sustained a knee injury in the preseason. However, during the 2024 season, he participated in only two games, mainly on special teams.

Wilkinson”s comments reflect a significant shift in his career, moving from a team with mixed results to a new opportunity with the Cardinals.
